About Ellone

A biocentric approach to creating regenerative built environments.

Ellone Biocentric Built Environments is an architectural research and design studio based in Chennai exploring regenerative approaches to the built environment.

Founded in 2021, the studio investigates how architecture can emerge from the living systems of a place. Soil, water, vegetation, climate, and biodiversity form the ecological foundation from which meaningful human habitats can evolve. Rather than treating buildings as isolated objects, Ellone approaches projects as living systems—where architecture grows from ecological understanding and continues through long-term stewardship.

Working at the intersection of architecture, landscape systems, and environmental processes, the studio explores how built environments can support biodiversity, regenerative resource cycles, and human wellbeing. The work emphasizes careful site reading, ecological sensitivity, and spatial experiences that reconnect people with nature.

Through research-driven design and collaborative implementation, Ellone seeks to develop built environments that are resilient, adaptive, and deeply rooted in their ecological context.

Vision

To nurture a future where built environments exist in harmony with natural systems—where architecture supports the coexistence of humans, flora, fauna, and the larger ecological landscape.

Ellone envisions cities and settlements where technology quietly supports sustainable living, and where architecture becomes a bridge between human aspirations and the living world.

Mission

Designing, building, and sustaining life-centred habitats

  • To design biocentric built environments that prioritize ecological balance, biodiversity, and human wellbeing.

  • To understand landscapes through ecological and climate-based site reading before shaping spatial interventions.

  • To integrate architecture, landscape systems, and regenerative infrastructure into cohesive living environments.

  • To collaborate with execution teams, ecological practitioners, and communities in translating design ideas into meaningful built spaces.

  • To ensure that built environments continue to function as living systems through long-term ecological stewardship and adaptive maintenance.
